Food- we all need it, it effects our health, and its production has a significant impact on our environment. Yet most of us don't know where our food comes from, what's really in the things we are eating, or the consequences it brings. Join us this Spring Quarter to discuss these issues and more about the the state of our nations food via the documentary film and companion book - Food, Inc.: A Participant Guide: How Industrial Food is Making Us Sicker, Fatter, and Poorer-And What You Can Do About It edited by Karl Weber (2009).
The goal of this quarterly “brown bag” seminar is to discuss some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today, through an analysis of current articles and readings. The seminar may include volunteer work, a field trip, and/or guest lectures.
