As we begin the 21st century, we find that humans are changing our atmosphere on such a scale as to effect the very climate of the Earth. Instramental records show that temperatures have risen 0.6±0.2 °C in the past century and models predict a continued rise. Some argue that the data is faulty. Who do you believe?

Ozone loss in the 20th century led to harmful levels of ultraviolet radiation. When faced with this fact, many nations of the world agreed to make changes to halt the destruction of ozone. Can we also make the sacrifices necessary to stop human induced global warming?

The goal of this "brown bag" seminar is to discuss some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today, including, but not limited to: causes and effects of global warming, fossil fuel and alternative energy issues, ozone depletion, and past climate changes. The seminar may include volunteer work, a field trip, and guest lectures.
