Syllabus / Readings / Volunteer

Sometimes we have to concentrate on the positive and think about what we can do to change the world for the better. "Since 2003, Worldchanging has brought together a global network of independent journalists, designers and thinkers to cover the world’s most innovative solutions to the planet’s problems, and inspire readers around the world with stories of new tools, models and ideas for building a bright green future." (Worldchanging web site) This quarter we will explore the work of the Worldchanging team (through their recently updated book - Worldchanging: A User's Guide for the 21st Century), and discuss ways we can start to solve local and global environmental problems.

The goal of this quarterly “brown bag” seminar is to discuss some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today, through an analysis of current articles and readings. The seminar may include volunteer work, a field trip, and/or guest lectures.
