BCC MATH LAB - SERVICES AVAILABLE
BCC Math Lab -- Services Available
The BCC Math Lab Tutorial Center (Math Lab) offers the following services free of charge to students currently enrolled in a math class offered by the BCC Mathematics Program.
Individual Tutorial Assistance
One-on-one tutorial assistance is available on a drop in basis during all hours the Math Lab is open. Students will find a combination of peer and professional tutors on duty to assist them. Feel free to drop by for assistance on specific homework problems or concepts, or stay to work on homework in an area where assistance is available should the need arise. Please be aware that the Math Lab staff may not assist you in working problems from take home exams, quizzes or assignments that will be graded by your instructor.
Quiet Study Area
Quiet study space is available in a room adjoining the Math Lab Tutorial Center. Students who need a quiet place to work on their math homework may use this room. Should the need for assistance arise, students in this room have immediate access to the tutors in the Tutorial Center.
Computer Access
The Math Lab Tutorial Center offers BCC math students access to Macintosh and PC workstations during all hours the Math Lab is open. These computers are loaded with the Maple software that is used in BCC math classes. Students who use these computers must bring a personal zip disk with them on which to save their work. (Note: PC formated disks do work on the Macs!) Color Printers are available in the Math Lab which can print Maple documents and graphs. Please note that Internet and word processing applications are not available in the Math Lab. Internet and word processing applications are available in the Open Computer Lab in N250.
Text Books and Solution Manuals
Current textbooks and complete solution manuals for most BCC math courses are available for student use. These materials must be used in the Math Lab and may not be removed from the premises.
Text books and solution manuals which are no longer used in BCC classes may be available for check out.
