BCC Driving Directions
A Geology Instructor's Perspective
To drive to BCC Main Campus - http://www.bcc.ctc.edu/about/around/directions/main
Alternatively, you may be able to save a navigational headache (and
some fossil fuels) by taking the bus…Especially because there is a lot
of road construction going on this year! Routes 222, 245, 271, and other bus
routes all drop you right outside the building! - http://transit.metrokc.gov
or http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov
(Do make sure the bus you want runs at the times you'll need it.)
To find your way around campus

Here are my suggestions:
- Print out and refer to the Parking Lot Map and the Room Location map. The
Parking Lot Map has the clearer information, but bring both maps.
- Find the main entrance to campus from the Driving Directions pages on the
BCC website - The main entrance is on 148th SE; the turn is near a gas station
(Texaco?)
- Turn into the main entrance
- Follow the road. At the first intersection (a traffic circle), turn RIGHT
- Almost immediately, there's another speed bump, and then the road bends
LEFT
- Park in any of the "legal" parking lots (the parking garage is near the
building)
- If you park in the parking garage, the L and B buildings are straight ahead
(L bldg is the right-hand one, at the bus stop. B bldg is the left-hand one.)
B bldg is big and rambling. You DON'T want to enter the bookstore/student-services
area--You DO want to locate the path between the L and B buildings.
- Now you might want to refer to the Room Location Map. Note that it's rotated
90 degrees from the Parking Lot Map. (For reference, the diagonal-slashed
parking lot on the RLM is lot F-2 on the PLM.)
- Room L-200 is the Science/Math Division Office. (Several ways to get to
it…here's probably the simplest:)
- Stand outside, between the B and L buildings. Look up…You'll see an
overhead walkway between the 2nd floors of the two buildings. Climb the stairs
to get to the walkway. Enter the L building (2nd floor). There are vending
machines on your right, and a ladies' room and stairs to your left. Walk just
a few feet--The Science/Math Division is the first major door to your LEFT.
After 5:00 pm the division's doors are supposed to be LOCKED, so knock loudly
if they're closed.
- To get to the geology classroom (B262), climb the stairs by the smoking
pavilion--B262 is on your left, just before the overhead walkway.
