Science Study Center S114
Spring 2012
Welcome to Bellevue College's Science Study Center

Now open evenings and Weekends!!

The Science Study Center is a multi-purpose room where science and math students gather to study, work with models and microscopes, view videos, take advantage of computer assisted learning and more. Faculty use the Study Center for scheduled demonstrations of course materials. Tutoring, review sessions and science advising sessions are also held in the Science Study Center

The Center is a popular science and math study area for students and faculty alike. The Center is staffed by Science Division faculty (who donate time) and by science and math tutors. The Macintosh computers have a variety of Science and Math software installed. The open hours and faculty staffing are shown below.

The Science Center can be reached on the BC campus by phone at extension 2196.

The Science Study Center Coordinator is Diane Mauldin. Diane can be reached at (425) 564-3122 or dmauldin@bellevuecollege.edu

The Science Center computer coordination for faculty is provided by Robert Hobbs. Questions about computer use in the Science Study Center should be directed to Robert at (425) 564-3154 or rhobbs@bellevuecollege.edu. Resources in The Science Study Center, S-114

The Computers:
The Science Study Center computers are dual boot Macintosh Machines, providing both WIndows and Macintosh environments. A variety of software exists on one or the other partition in support of science classes.

Printing:
Students may print single assignments or course notes for Science classes only. This printing is not supported by student fees and so we ask that you keep individual print jobs to small sizes and never exceed 20 pages. Please take larger jobs and printing fro other courses to the N building open lab where these tasks are appropriate.

The Bugs:
Not really bugs but single cellular life preserved on slides support the Biology courses. The slide set also includes tissue from many plants and animal samples.

The Bones:
Anaotmy and Physiology and Antropology students will find examples of bones to really get a feel for the skeleton and how the parts fit together. Muscles organs and other structures are also available as plastic models to support these courses.

Science Club News:
Science Clubs post meeting tiems and announcements in the Science Study Center.
